Portfolio Website for a Director of Photography

This project was developed as a client engagement under Fidelio, where we built a portfolio website for an Istanbul-based Director of Photography who has worked with artists such as Can Bonomo, Kenan Doğulu, Mazhar Alanson, Simge Sağın, and Derya Uluğ.

The goal was to create a platform that not only showcases visual work in a clean and professional way, but also allows the client to manage and update their portfolio independently over time.

I worked as a Full-Stack Developer in a two-person team, taking responsibility for both the front-end experience and the underlying content management system. The project required balancing visual presentation with flexibility, ensuring that high-quality media content could be displayed smoothly while remaining easy to manage.

On the front end, we focused on building a responsive and visually minimal interface that keeps the attention on the work itself. Performance and smooth navigation were critical, especially considering the heavy use of image and video content.

On the backend, we developed a custom CMS tailored to the client’s workflow. This allowed the photographer to upload, organize, and update both photo and video content without needing technical support. The system was designed to keep the portfolio dynamic and scalable as new work is produced.

One of the key considerations in this project was maintaining a balance between aesthetic presentation and usability. The platform needed to feel polished and professional for visitors, while remaining simple and practical for the client to manage on a daily basis.

This project reflects my experience working on real client-facing products within a startup environment, where understanding user needs, delivering reliable systems, and maintaining clean design all play an important role.
